3 Personal Branding Trends to Make Your Brand More Human in 2023

Self-care is something that has become a buzzword, but is it just lip service or is it a real priority in our lives?

Running a business is not for the faint of heart. It requires sacrifice, commitment, and a never-ending to-do list. The road to success is dotted with obstacles, challenges, and the need to make tough choices.

Despite the demands of business, it’s crucial to take care of yourself if you want to achieve healthy work-life integration. A burned-out, drained leader will not inspire or motivate their team.

Remember, you can’t give what you don’t have, and as a business owner, it’s imperative that you are at your best so that those around you can be too.

What Does Burnout Look Like?

Burnout is a real thing, and it can hit even the most motivated and driven entrepreneurs. There are many signs of burnout, which can vary from person to person. This is how your body and mind warn you that you may need to take a step back and care for yourself.

Here are some signs to look for when checking for burnout:

???? Fatigue

???? Decreased productivity

???? Anxiety

???? Difficulty concentrating

???? Negative attitudes

If you are burned out or see signs of burnout, have no fear. I have some good news. All you need to do is become a bit more conscious about your self-care routine.

For me, that means spending a couple of minutes extra each morning to craft the perfect hairstyle. But it’s more than that; it’s a time of self-reflection and organizing my thoughts for the day ahead.

The Best ways to Practice Self-Care

On Valentine’s Day, people usually worry about making the people around them feel loved. (Which, of course, I’ll be doing with Rachel B. Lee. ????)

But I want you to take this year’s Valentine’s Day and also give yourself some love. Take some time to unwind and decompress.

When you take care of yourself, you’ll have more energy and the ability to focus on and tackle your goals. You will also have more energy and focus to give to the people around you.

Here are some of the best ways to practice self-care:

✅ Create “me time” in your daily routine.

✅ Exercise daily.

✅ Learn to say no.

✅ Find ways to say no.

✅ Nourish your body.

✅ Enjoy a hobby.

✅ Make sleep a priority.

✅ Be in the moment.

While you should do all of these things regularly, try focusing on at least 3 of them to practice self-care this Valentine’s Day.

Incorporating these tips into your daily life can help you be at your best. Plus, when you’re feeling your best, you’ll have the confidence to make better decisions and take care of others.

Make Delegation a Thing!

Here’s a bonus tip: You have to learn to delegate!

Delegation can be a game-changer to offload some of the stress you’re experiencing in your day-to-day life! If possible, outsource some of your tasks to your team or freelancers. This can relieve some of the weight off of your shoulders and give others a chance to showcase their skills.

Don’t be afraid to let go of the reins a little bit – delegating can lead to growth for you and your team in the long run.

How to Make Time for Self-Care

We talked about burnout and ways to practice self-care. But what about time? How exactly are you going to make this happen? Since self-care is a great way to reduce stress levels, improve mental health, and boost clarity, creativity, and productivity, I encourage you to find the time.

Here are some ways you can add more self-care to your routine:

➡️ Schedule it! Treat it with importance, just like any other appointment.

➡️ Make a list of your favorite self-care activities and keep it close, with options for short, medium, and long activities depending on your schedule for the day.

➡️ Start your day right by using your phone for positive purposes, like meditating or listing things you’re grateful for.

➡️ Don’t wait for the perfect moment to take care of yourself. Incorporate self-care into your daily routine and see the benefits for yourself!

Trust me, your body and mind will thank you. Let’s take care of ourselves and thrive as entrepreneurs! Feel free to prioritize self-care and give yourself a break now and then.
