WYB Newsletter
Definition: WYB Newsletter is a monthly newsletter by Rachel B. Lee, co-founder of StandOut Authority. It focuses on brand voice, founder positioning, and the leadership work behind a brand that sounds like the human running it. Published the first Tuesday of every month.
I write WYB because most founders have a translation problem, not an expertise problem.
The work is real. The results are real. But somewhere between what they do and how they talk about it, the human disappears. What is left sounds professional, polished, safe, and completely interchangeable. The brand goes invisible not because the person is not good enough but because the language sanded all the edges off.
WYB is where I work through how to fix that. Real founder stories, voice exercises that take five minutes, and the specific patterns I see in client work that make some leaders unmistakable while others stay forgettable no matter how good they are.
What you can expect:
- Stories, not testimonials
- Voice exercises you can actually do, not theory
- The honest read on what is working in brand-building right now
- One real moment per issue, not a roundup
If you have been told your brand sounds professional and that has always felt like a half-compliment, this newsletter is for you. Professional is usually code for "I cannot tell who you actually are." The work here is making sure people can.
